Frequently asked questions

What does Globe Music do?

We acquire master and publishing rights from independent artists, producers, and rights holders. With roots as an independent label, we base our offers on real catalog performance and keep the process efficient through closing.

What types of music rights do you acquire?

We buy master rights, publishing rights, and selected catalog assets. This can include individual tracks or complete catalogs, across all genres, not just instrumental music.

Can I sell only part of my catalog?

Yes. We offer both full acquisitions and partial sales, depending on your goals and the catalog structure.

How do you value a catalog?

We review performance history and revenue consistency, then apply market multipliers based on factors like earnings stability, platform mix, catalog age, and growth trends. You receive a clear offer to review.

How fast can I get paid?

Once we've agreed on terms and signed, we can transfer the funds in as little as 7 days. Timing depends on documentation and rights verification.

What do you need from me to get started?
Typically we ask for:
• Recent royalty statements (DSPs, distributor, PRO/publisher, etc.)
• Basic catalog information (what you own, splits, territories)
• Any agreements that affect ownership or payouts (if applicable)
Do you have minimum requirements?
We typically look for catalogs with:
• $5,000+ in annual royalty revenue
• 12+ months of track record
If you don't perfectly fit these criteria, you can still reach out. We review exceptions.
What happens after the sale?

After closing, we manage the catalog in-house. We handle royalty reporting, metadata, distribution, and performance tracking across platforms. The music stays the same; we just manage the rights.

Will my music still be available on streaming platforms?

Yes. Acquiring a catalog doesn't mean taking music down. It stays available on all major streaming and digital platforms.

Is my data kept confidential?

Yes. All information you share with Globe Music is treated as confidential and used only to evaluate a potential deal. We protect sensitive data and follow applicable privacy requirements.

Are there any upfront costs or fees?

No. Submitting your catalog and receiving an initial assessment comes with no upfront fees.

Do you work internationally?

Yes. We work with artists and rights holders all around the globe. We can evaluate catalogs from different territories as long as ownership structures and reporting are clear.

What legal support is involved in the process?

Every transaction comes with clear legal documentation covering rights transfers, ownership, and any ongoing obligations. We keep the paperwork straightforward and work with experienced legal partners.
